Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA)-BOMA International was founded in 1907 as the National Association of Building Owners and Managers. The association assumed its present name in 1968 as it broadened its reach to include Canada and participants from around the globe. Today BOMA International represents 95 North American and nine overseas associations in Australia, Brazil, Finland, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, the Philippines and South Africa. BOMA's North American membership represents a combined total of more than 8.5 billion square feet of office space.

Home Automation Association (HAA) - The Home Automation Association (HAA) - the trade association of the home control industry - was founded in 1988 and marked the recognition of the home control industry. HAA currently has over 300 company members including manufacturers, distributors, dealers, installers and service providers of home automation products. Home automation is defined as a process or system (using different methods or equipment) which provides the ability to enhance one's lifestyle, and make a home more comfortable, safe and efficient. Home automation can link lighting, entertainment, security, telecommunications, heating and air conditioning into one centrally controlled system. National Fire Sprinkle Association -The Association of Plumbing, Heating Cooling Contractors is aggressively setting up training programs and is expending resources to develop the market for residential sprinklers in single-family homes. NFSA is in the process of developing a Residential Sprinkler Accreditation Program with the members of the fire community, in an effort to protect the integrity of the sprinkler product which has enjoyed an enviable record of protecting life and property for more than 100 years. While many of the details have not been finalized, and additional input is needed from NFSA's contractor membership, the goal of this program is to ensure that quality installations are installed by competent contractors. Additional details will be forthcoming in future NFSA publications.
