American Wood Preserves Institute -First established in 1921, the American Wood Preservers Institute (AWPI) is the  national industry trade association representing the pressure-treated wood industry throughout the United States. Member companies are wood pressure treaters, preservative manufacturers, and supporting companies working to conserve forest  resources, preserve the environment, and extend the life of wood products through the manufacture of pressure-treated wood.
 The AWPI encourages, develops and promotes the production and acceptance of the wood preserving industry's products. The AWPI also promotes environmental stewardship and compliance with state and Federal regulations by all members of the wood preserving industry. The objectives of the association are to improve public acceptance of preserved-wood products, represent the industry on regulatory and legislative matters, and address all questions about the manufacture, use, disposal, and integrity of treated-wood products. The AWPI provides a wide range of technical, educational, and reference materials for use by members, distributors, and users of pressure treated wood.

National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) - is a federation of more than 800 state and local builders associations throughout the United States. The mission of this Washington, D.C.-based trade association is to enhance the climate for housing and the building industry, and to promote policies that will keep housing a national priority. Home Builders Institute (HBI)- is the nation's leading source for education and training programs serving the home building industry. For more than 25 years, HBI has trained skilled workers in residential construction. Annually, HBI enrolls over 7,000 individuals nationwide in construction crafts training programs. HBI helps builders enhance their professionalism through continuing education and certificate programs. American Institute of Timber Construction (AITC) - The American Institute of Timber Construction (AITC) is the national technical trade association of the structural glued laminated (glulam) timber industry. AITC represents a majority of the glued laminated timber manufacturers in the U.S. in addition to a number of installers, suppliers, sales representatives, engineers, architects, designers, and researchers. Since 1952, the American Institute of Timber Construction has had one name and one focus - structural glued laminated timber. Utilizing the professional talents and extensive experience of its membership base, AITC developed, sponsored and continues to maintain the American National Standard for Structural Glued Laminated Timber - ANSI/AITC A190.1. The recognition of AITC as the authority in the laminated timber industry is the direct result of the collaborative efforts of its members in the development and maintenance of today's industry design and product standards, the establishment of the benchmark industry quality assurance/inspection/grademark program and laminated timber research.

The Hardwood Council is a coalition of 12 hardwood lumber and product trade associations.  The Council's website provides building professionals with instant access to technical literature on how to work with and specify North American hardwoods.

Hardwood Manufacturers Association-- provides ideas and "how to" advice about shopping for, selecting, installing, decorating with and caring for solid hardwood furniture, flooring, cabinetry, mouldings and other woodwork.  The Hardwood Information Center is national, non-profit resource for consumers, specifiers and the media. We are an independent organization that provides photography, brochures and this Web site as part our educational efforts. We also supply information about U.S. hardwoods in general, and sustainable  hardwood forestry. Based in Pittsburgh, Pa., the Hardwood Manufacturers Association (HMA) is a non-profit national trade association of more than 150 U.S. hardwood lumber producers and processors in 34 states.
